All the way home

mini-graph
Well, we made it. We relaunched our service at about 4:30 PM Pacific today. We were down for about 33 hours, beating the 48-hour promise we made to our users. We're really proud of that. All our systems and applications are working, and as you see above, our spider is all caught up.

We lost just one disk drive that we know of. Boy, do we feel lucky. That will result in some stale data in our politics section for a short while, but we'll recover soon.

I'm immensely grateful to everyone for all the hard work and support. As I mentioned before, nearly everyone in the company helped in this effort. But the real heros were Matt, David, Aaron, Bill and Ian. We would have gone broke doing it but for the patience and diligence of Teresa and Michelle. Thanks to Jason, Derek and Tantek for help keeping our users informed. And most of all, thanks to Dave for giving us a chance to partake in this adventure.

Time to toast, and then to sleep.

Update: I almost forgot. Thanks to Flickr for helping us to share the event minute-by-minute with our many friends and fans.
