★★★★★ Joan and I had a magical evening at Cafe Gibraltar last weekend. As the name implies, Gibraltar offers a pan-Mediterranean menu, drawing from Moroccan, Tunisian, Provençal, Catalan and neighboring cuisines.
The setting was lovely: in the tiny town of El Granada, just north of Half Moon Bay, overlooking the ocean at sunset. The very accomodating hostess made sure we got seated at one of their luxurious pillows-on-the-floor tables.
The food was glorious. We had Agneau au Pistou and Porc amb Salsa de Magrana for our main courses, as well as appetizers and desserts. The wine list was interesting and reasonably priced. We had a Corbieres de Boncaillou, a Syrah blend from the Rhône, which I will look for again.
Very highly recommended!
