While reading some of the commentary on An Inconvenient Truth (which I still need to go see), I came across this post. The blogger relates an experience he had today while driving his Hummer. His description is very colorful, so I'm including part of it here:
Next to me in the other lane is a chick with green hair in a newer Tiburon. V6. This comes in handy later. At the end of the post, he makes a request:The light turns green and we go. She veers over to the 40E lane and starts going on the onramp. I look over, and she is flicking us off. Not only is she flicking us off, but she holding her cell phone in the other hand next to the hand that is flicking.
I do a double take, and it hit me. She was flicking off the H2. And she was takng a picture of it on her picture phone. I geuss she had just seen "An Inconvienient Truth" (thats the global warming movie that I talked about earlier. I learned today it was an Al Gore movie. Enough said. Lets move on.)
She there she was, taking a picture of our vehicle because it got bad gas milage, or whatever her little vendetta is. Although, I would have to say Id rather drive a car that got bad gas milage than drive any car around a corner with no hands on the wheel trying to take a picture of the car that polluted the air slighty more than Micheal Moore hott air emmissions. But maybe thats just me.
If anyone comes across a grainy picture of a middle finger in front a yellow H2 going over a bridge, let me knowI thought, at least I know where to look. So I did.
And as Papa Arlo said, "they might think it's a movement. And that's what it is." FUH2. Hundreds of pictures of people flipping off Hummers. I'm inspired. Look for uploads from me soon. And Tom, maybe you'd like to talk about this?
Unfortunately, Luke, I never was able to find the photo delecti that you were looking for. Have a spin around Flickr, and perhaps you'll find her.
And to our green-haired friend from Missouri, you have my undying admiration.
Update: I had to try it...
that story f*cking RULES!

It's a splendid evening here in The Inner Farallones. We've settled into a winter weather pattern: clear, cool, delightful. I watched a gorgeous sunset out over Fort Funston. Of course, I spent most of the time gazing at the Farallones, which loom a lot closer than 28 miles. All of a sudden, I saw a light! I'd always suspected there was a lighthouse on top of the biggest of the islands, but it's never been clear enough to ascertain. Sure enough. It comes around about every 15 seconds.
